Call of Duty 6 has been announced! The game, to be developed by Infinity Ward, is to be released around Spring 2009 and will be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Yes COD:MW2. SO expect another high quality game but they could have chosen another era other than going back to the "Modern Warfare" thing. WHy not set it around World War 1? WHy not the Cold War? WHY MAKE A SECOND MODERN WARFARE GAME!!!! I'll leave this up to you to decide becasue I really don't know why they did this.

Why make a second Modern Warfare?? Because the first one was awesome, hugely successful and incredibly good, maybe?
A World War One COD Game? You'd spend 80% of your time sitting in a trench, feeling miserable, having Diarrhea, writing depressing letters home, and then having to take another dump, only to go 'over the top' and get shot in the face by some German/Turkish Machine-Gunner... Fun Gaming!
And a Cold War COD?!! Are you insane! Remember, in the Cold War, nobody actually shot anybody, they just stood on opposite sides of the Pacific, saying we're going to blow you up, and then the other would say 'if you blow us up, we'll blow you up too' and then they would sit around drinking tea and marvelling at the wonder of Mutually Assured Destruction...
I'm all for a second Modern Warfare!
There doesn't seem to be much American Civil War era FPS games, which I guess is good because it wouldn't work.
